In a desperate effort to get out of the house and avoid the leftover chocolates we took advantage of an infrequent dry spell and got busy in the garden. For Christmas Karens mum and dad bought us some wildlife friendly gifts from the RSPB. So today we put them out.
We had two bird boxes, one open fronted and the other with an entrance hole which wplaced high up on two large sycamore trees down one side of the garden.
We also received a cute little insect house complete with some wierd smelling ladybird food which we've placed near our chicken camp.
Finally we put the hedgehog house next to our own poor effort and as you can, or can't see from the photo we buried it in mulch and leaves.
The RSPB stuff is quite cute and seems to be nicely built and finished, time will tell if the local critters like them as much as we do.
